The George Chambers Resource Center is a non-profit facility serving the needs of the developmentally disabled and their families. The developed master plan provides the Center's owners with a holistic vision of its site that will assist them in fulfilling their goal to connect those with developmental disabilities to jobs, dreams, people and life. Through the integration of these goals into the site's overall vision, the hopes and desires of the Center, its employees, and clients can begin to spread out into the larger community.
Upon entering the site, large landscaped areas, the first displaying the Center's entrance sign, signify the importance for the Center. Various theme gardens and outdoor spaces throughout the site invite the larger community onto the grounds to visit and explore, thus expanding the opportunities for interaction between developmentally disabled individuals and others in the community. The master plan also provides opportunities for relaxed interaction with family and friends, and opportunities for experiencing in a comfortable environment, urban outdoor elements they will find as they travel off site.
