Little Island Parking Lot
Little Island District Park is a 122 acre site bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and Back Bay on the west. The park provides access to miles of oceanfront beach and includes fishing pier, playground, picnic shelters and two bathhouses.
The Cityre desired to expand the parking lot to 1,000 spaces, utilities for a future bathhouse and improve access and stacking capacity to the lot. The parking lot is designe in accordance with the Integrated Site Design Manual which outlines a variety of Green Design Principles including proactive stormwater management, naturally landscaped areas, preservation of natural resources and coordinated pedestrian and vehicular access ways.
