Stumpy Lake Parking
The development of a parking area, canoe/kayak launch, and linkage to a trail system at Stumpy Lake Natural Area. A major goal was to improve pedestrian safety in this area while providing convenient access to the site’s many recreational opportunities. The site's existing constraints and opportunities including views, environmental conditions, vehicular and pedestrian movements, and safety concerns were assessed to inform design decisions. After evaluation several alternatives consensus settled on the concept that improved the safety of the area for all, integrated the natural environment into the design, and created an attractive destination for accessing the lake and trails.
